5 Very pleased with my Galil ACE Hangaurd

It really is a quality handguard worthy of a quality gun. The factory handguard was easily removed and the new MI guard fit up perfect. The entire process took less than 5 mins. The handguard is a beautiful piece of work, well crafted and well finished. From beginning to end the order, delivery, and ease of install were all first rate. I am a return customer, I have used MI products many times in the past and would recommend this product to anyone looking for a better alternative to the OEM handguard.

First...let me say that Andy at Midwest got me straightened out quickly! Second...when I ordered the 7.62 pistol handguard, I didnt really read the reviews (my issue is similar to another review) because I knew that I wanted Midwests version. I ordered the MI-GACEP for the 7.62 pistol and when I received it, I saw a problem...GACEP has the one through bolt design...my 7.62 pistol has the two bolt handguard design (bolt attaches to the gas block from each side). They sent me the MI-GA556P version. This product is located under the 5.56 link but it works perfectly on my 7.62 pistol. IWI has both the one bolt and the two bolt versions floating around for the 7.62 pistol (not sure if this is also true for the 5.56 versions). If you know you have the two bolt version, order the 5.56 pistol, MI-GA556P. Third...the handguard is very nice, lightweight and easy to install and the price cant be beat! 5 stars for the handguard and also 5 stars for Midwests customer service!

The only feature I didn't like about my Galil Ace was the factory handguard, and MI has fixed that very nicely. The MI Galil Ace 10" handguard installs easily and fits perfectly. Functionally having M-LOK on the rail is an advantage that needs no explanation, but my favorite feature is the QR sling mount receptacle on both sides. Last and not least, this handguard looks downright badass!

10x better than the plastic factory handguard and even slightly lighter. Mlok is awesome, overall this new handguard will give your galil ace a whole new & improved look! 100% would recommend!

Outstanding customer service and outstanding product. The MI Handguard completely changes the handling, function and look of the rifle by a significant order of magnitude. I received my handguard & was immediately impressed by the quality of the unit and went to work following YouTube instructions to attach the unit. All the steps were easy and everything was going great right up to the final step of the final tiny little screw that should have been a breeze... and the final bottom screw refused to rotate in as the hole seemed to not have any threading for the screw to lock into. I contacted support & I soon got a response from Troy who gave some suggestions that might help but ultimately nothing worked. Troy remained fantastically helpful and promised to send me a new handguard ASAP after the holidays. Troy was a man of his word and followed up with quickly getting the replacement handguard out to me and the new one assembled very easily with no issues.

scratches easily. Install is simple and straightforward, with all needed tools and lock-tite included. I was surprised that when I slipped with the allen wrench it easily scratched the finish. This happened a few times with very little pressure. I'm not concerned as I will use the rifle and repaint, or recoat as needed. Much nicer than the factory handguard.

5 Check your handguard prior to ordering!!

So first off I cant say enough about John and Andy at MI. Their customer service is second to none. Long story short there are TWO different style IWI trunnion/gas blocks and you HAVE to specify which style you have when you order a MI handguard. If you remove one long bolt from your ACE handguard you have a through hole trunnion/gas block. If you remove TWO short bolts (one on either side) you have a threaded trunnion/gas block. One MI handguard comes with one long bolt to accommodate the through hole trunnion/gas block and the other MI handguard comes with TWO machine screws AND spacers to secure the handguard to the threaded style trunnion/gas block. They resolved my issue faster than any other company I have ever worked with. Definitely will be buying more goodies from MI!!
