4 Nice, but a little too long.
Posted by Nino P on May 27th 2021
It's a well-made handguard if you're not using a muzzle device attachment. Unfortunately it's a little too long compared to the Sig handguard and so my Surefire Warden is no longer attachable with the Surefire SOCOM flash hider I had installed.

4 Too long
Posted by ADAM M. on May 26th 2020
Well made product and MI was kind enough to accept my return, but it needs to be shortened or widened. Would not allow me to run my Silencerco Omega 30 or my 7.62SDN6 suppressors.

4 Not Compatible with OSS Suppressors
Posted by Patrick on May 18th 2020
Even with the MI collar the OSS suppressor will hit the inside of the hand guard due to the hexagonal base. With that said, this rail is enough of an upgrade over the OEM that its WORTH purchasing a 6.75" 300 BLK barrel for the rattler just to use it. Not only does it look better but the position of the MLOK slots allow a light to be mounted closer to the bore which is what I prefer. The additional rail section also allows the front BUIS to be moved forward freeing up more rail section for a tape switch. It's a solid product, just not designed with suppression in mind.

5 Just as good or better than SIG’s
Posted by Craig Rathman on Apr 24th 2020
The fit and finish of this rail is on par with the extended Canebrake rail my Rattler came with. I bought this shorter version to use until my suppressor shows up, and/or when I want to run my 5.56 conversion. You can not run a Rattler in 5.56 suppressed, the Canebrake is not compatible with the 5.56 conversion, nor can you change the flash suppressor on the 5.56 conversion, so this is a great option for us Canebrake Rattler owners! I’ve owned many MI Industries product, and I’ve never been disappointed!

2 NOT DEAD AIR SUPPRESSOR COMPATIBLE
Posted by Sig_MCX_OWNER on Sep 17th 2019
Description says it's incompatible with Sig Suppressors, but it doesn't work with Dead Air Sandman models and I would not expect it to work with any suppressor that uses a locking collar. The Sandman is not especially wide and neither is the locking collar. The collar makes contact with the inner surface of the hand guard, which prevents the suppressor from locking correctly. Thankfully, no baffle strike resulted, but it caused rounds to keyhole about 2 feet low and right at 15 yards. I can't imagine making a hand guard that's incompatible with suppressors for a gun that's basically built to be suppressed.

This part fits perfectly into the Rattler, and the fit and finish are outstanding. The price is great and shipping fast. I came back and bought a few more parts from MI because of the great quality and great customer service. Thank you!

5 Super High Quality Product
Posted by Matt on May 31st 2019
It's rare to buy an part or accessory that meets or exceeds the quality put into the original product. Especially if its a well engineered product like most of the stuff Sig produces. I was pleasantly surprised when I received this hand guard and installed it. It fits absolutely perfect. The tolerances are amazing. The finish and quality of this product are excellent. I bought this to run my Sig un-suppressed. For anyone considering using this hand guard with a can, I did some test fitting with a SureFire adapter & can installed. The clearance between the hand guard and the barrel will not allow the can to fully seat on the mounting point. Even though the Surefire suppressor mount extends the barrel out a bit, there is not enough room to install the can with it's quick-connect latch. Perhaps one of the bottle shaped suppressors would work? All-in-all, a really great product!
