5 .308 reaction rod
Posted by Andrew Sampson on Apr 17th 2023
Of all the reaction rods I’ve researched this is hands down the best. I have the .223 model as well and I am so happy I bought another one for my .308 builds. Works flawlessly and takes the worry away from snapping threads off an upper by bracing and aligning the barrel and upper perfectly. Thank you for a great product!

Only used it once so far, but it worked beautifully, glad I took the time and did some research, that led me to Midwest industries, great product!

5 MI URR 308
Posted by Pete North Las Vegas on Dec 9th 2022
Exact tolerances and can also be used to check upper receiver bore ID and extension lug alignment. Design captures the receiver in addition to the barrel extension unlike other designs that could still allow damage when tightening the barrel nut! Excellent finish! Best on the market! Fast shipping!

5 URR Tool
Posted by Fat Panda Firearms on Mar 18th 2021
In my opinion both the AR15 and AR10 version of this tool are the best thing to use for AR platform assembly. I wasn’t able to get this tool from one of my distributors and decided to pay full retail for it based on its usefulness and quality. The Top sail on this device is what completely sets it apart from its competition as it holds both the barrel and Upper receiver in place when installing a barrel nut.

5 Great tool!
Posted by Ethan on Mar 27th 2020
Love the tool! I'm using it to build my first AR10 using an Aero M5 upper and a Faxon match barrel. This tool fits these components perfectly. The removable tongue feature on top of the rod is something to appreciate; it adds extra support and reduces torque stress on the barrel extension lugs when cranking on a barrel nut or muzzle device. When removed, it enables a person to quickly or intermittently rotate the upper assembly without unlocking the tool from the vise in order to rotate it. As with other Midwest industries products, this rod is made of quality material and craftsmanship. One thing that would improve this tool, is if it came with a bottom plug feature like that of the Real Avid Lug Lock rod. This would enable the upper receiver to be locked in place and prevent it from sliding forward on the rod; a major benefit when removing a tight fitting hand guard or gas block. Nonetheless, I still give this tool a 5 star rating and recommend it to others!

5 Best Upper Receiver Rod!
Posted by Jim Laxton on Jan 10th 2020
I used this for my POF 308 upper receiver. It locks in with the barrel lug and fits tight in the receiver. This is the best tool I have found for removing or tightening barrel nuts and muzzle devices on my AR10.

5 Best designed Receiver Rod
Posted by bfoosh006 on Jan 30th 2019
I have tried the other brands... the Midwest Receiver Rod is the best one I have used out of the bunch. The Brownells sucked because of no vise flats...and frankly is a little to short. The Geiselle was a big step up because of the vise flats and added OAL... but without the charging handle valley that Midwest has... it would tend to spin if I didn't keep it in the correct position.. and if it would shift ( downward ) while in the vise, I had a few uppers bonk to the ground. Sure my fault, but still annoying. The Midwest, with its CH valley addition, makes for a much stronger setup... allowing me to remove that one stubborn barrel nut, that I wasn't comfortable doing with the Geissele rod just holding onto the receiver extension. In other words ... the added CH valley portion adds considerable support. Wish the Midwest version had been available when I bought the other 2 brands... because I wouldn't have wasted money on those.
