I rebarrelled an Aero Precision upper with a very heavy barrel and replaced it with a Ballistic Advantage Tactical 20 incher. Looked over a mess of handguards and settled in on the Midwest Industries. It was a nearly effortless procedure and the results were very satisfactory. Directions are detailed and everything you need is right in the box. Slightly pricier but well worth the few extra dollars. I'm more than pleased. I've purchased other Midwest products and have yet to find the worm in the apple. Thanks Midway!

4 .308 combat handguard

As usual, Midwest sells the best. Bought the .308 combat rail (high tang) and it's awesome. All my handguards are Midwest. The only reason it gets 4 stars instead of 5 is the anti-rotation block: it doesn't work very well, and is inferior to the exterior tabs on AR15 handguards. Mounting a scope was challenging until i figured out the handguard had rotated enough to throw it off half a bubble.

5 Area 419 12inch ARCALOCK M-LOK Rail.

This 15in 308 Combat Rail is rock solid and perfect in every way accept with one simple design flaw that proved to be a bit of a PITA to have to work around. My AR-10 308 project involved mounting the Area 419 12in ARCA Rail to the bottom M-LOK points on this handguard. The problem I ran into is with the bottom-forward QD attachment point on the rail. To make it work I removed the rail and used my bench grinder to remove/flatten it. At the risk of sounding like a Karen, M-LOK is about modularity and having all these QD points baked into the rail seems a bit unnecessary. I'm still giving it five stars as I think this is still the best M-LOK Rail available for the AR-10 platform.
