5 Midwest Industries Handguard on Z85

Very pleased with the way that this kit mounted to my Zastava Z85. VERY solid setup. As the instructions mention, take your time with sanding the anti-rotation block. If you have a digital caliper, measure the opening on the front of the receiver, then measure the anti-rotation block, then MARK the anti-rotation block that mark the correct overall width. This will help you fit this part properly, which is key to a successful installation. Thanks MWI!

Love this handguard in every way. Went with the top "rail" version as I wanted to put a holosun optic on it. Unfortunately, for some reason the holosun will not mount on this rail. Not sure what "standard" this rail is but the holosun mounts on all my AR's to include further forward on the handguards as well as my CZ bren but from some reason the rail will not accept the holosun mount. It teeters and rocks so there's not enough clearance somewhere. Otherwise 5 stars.

I am extremely satisfied with this handguard! Looks great on my M92. Super easy to install. Just follow the instructions. The most challenging part was fitting the plastic handgaurd tab to the m92 receiver. The one that comes with this handgaurd is extremely oversized so I cut a small chunk from each side with a saw and then filed until it fit perfectly.

I've considered several options to adapt assorted handguard solutions to my M85. Magpul & Manticore plastic didn't appeal or needed major modification to guard and gun. Even expensive alloy solutions were lacking. Midwest provided the perfect answer. Clean and tight, mlok system allows my barrel hand to ride as high as possible. Running the Mlok hand stop from Magpul along with their grip inserts plus a few generic rubber inserts. Light mount on the pic rail section. Top rail is a solid platform holding the Vortex Scout scope, or fastfire. I couldn't be any more satisfied. Midwest won a customer for life with this product. Next up, new handguard for the AR. So happy I didn't waste money looking for a "bargain". MI keep up the great work. Thanks

4 Solid Optics Mount

I have a Yugo M92/M72 hybrid oddball AK with a folding stock. The receiver on this gun does not provide side-mounts, and the sight-mount was a failure. Holding zero was impossible with my Trigicon RMR. Midwest has perfect solution, clamping to the barrel with a solid low-profile replacement for the flimsy wood handguard. The RMR sight-line is nice a low, not co-witness with the iron sights, but just above that line and comfortable shoulder position. The Cleaning Rod - slash - Bayonet retainer does not fit into the gun any more, so be aware that becomes a back-scratcher . The centering block plugs the opening in the front of the receiver where the rod enters. The look and feel are really great. The gun looks more like a contemporary tactical rifle now, and you just can't put it down. I had a mis-fit on my first selection, too short, and the guys at Midwest were all over making it right.
